Worth the money. Just hand wash the probe and it will last.

This thermometer is GREAT only after you contact the oregonscientificstore.com when it IS NOT WORKING. I followed the mfgs. instructions when new, The unit DID NOT WORK. After contacting oregonscientificstore.com they gave me the rest of the setup instructions. If the "Current Temperature" is not displaying a gain in heat during grilling, you will need to do this to re-calibrate the unit. Steps must be followed in order. 1: Remove all batteries from main unit and probe.
2: Allow a minimum of 10 minutes for any/all capacitors to discharge.
3: Reinstall batteries into the remote probe first. Press a paper clip or pin into Reset hole in the battery compartment
4: Finally, reinstall the batteries into the main unit. Press a paper clip or pin into Reset hole in the battery compartment.
